Question: what do ppl see in him? he wasnt in the top 20 league championship goalscorers or assists. why is there so much hype? if ppl are chasing kamara and nugent, why dont they chase Jamie Cureton?
Answer: I agree he hasn't had the greatest of seasons, but its been injury affected and Preston don't seem to be playing that well. The biggest thing with Nugent is his potential, Cureton is in his 30s and is adapted to the quality of the Championship. Nugent has the potential to be the next Dean Ashton (who was never particulary prolific in the championship, he did well, but became a better player when he stepped up a level) or Darren Bent. There are players who score a lot of goals in the championship who don't adapt to the premiership, eg. Nathan Blake, Nathan Ellington, Ade Akinbye. Just judge Nugent on his first and second seasons in the Premiership.
